John & Natalie
John Cahill is a Brisbane-based barrister with a flair for the dramatic—both in court and on the dance floor. Crowned Disco King at the 1981 Beaudesert Primary School Big-Lunch Discotheque, John’s love of monologues and spontaneous dance routines has taken him from London to Caboolture. His showmanship eventually led him to one of the world’s oldest performing professions: the Bar.

Specialising in family and criminal law, John is deeply committed to pro bono work, regularly representing WLSQ clients and others through Legal Aid. A lover of the stage in all its forms, he’s also a familiar voice on ABC Brisbane and various podcasts.

Natalie Powell, principal solicitor of Powell Family Law, is a leading expert in family law and domestic violence litigation. With over a decade of volunteer work and a stint as a solicitor at WLSQ, Natalie’s dedication to supporting women and families is unwavering.

While she thrives in the courtroom, Natalie is less certain about the dance floor. John's imaginative choreography ideas—ranging from Voguing Barristers to Cirque du Soleil Solicitors—are met with both skepticism and good humor. Determined to master her dance moves while keeping John organised, Natalie is proving that even in the spotlight, her precision and professionalism shine.
